I am a Canadian artist, currently living in Edmonton, Alberta with my wonderful husband, numerous bunny loves of my life and our two over-sized, mooching lap dogs. I grew up in rural Alberta which helped me cultivate a strong passion for nature, wildlife and their relationship with colour. To this day my childhood experiences with nature, my love for animals and the freedom of rural life, continue to strongly influence my lifestyle, and way of thinking, as well as my art.
My parents were very supportive of my artistic endeavours and often encouraged me to explore different outlets. My Great Grandfather, Abe Patterson, was a widely renowned wood carver from Ontario and my father was very keen on teaching my siblings and I how to create with our hands. In high school upon taking introductory art classes, I found my footing in drawing and sketching and after graduating went on to pursue a career in graphic design.
Beyond my high school experiences, I am entirely self taught. I enjoy creating in oil painting, watercolour, pencil and charcoal and dabble in photography. A limited selection of my work is available as prints or reproductions through Society6.com. Originals are available through my Shop Page above. I occasionally accept commission work, time/schedule depending. If you have an inquiry please reach out to me via my contact page.
Currently I am focusing on making my artwork more public and welcome opportunities to do so. I network widely through social media such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and my Tumblr blog.
